Join a global professional services leader. We are committed to solving the world’s biggest challenges in the areas of water, energy and urbanisation.

If you want to start a career with impact, solving everyday problems through to tackling some of the great challenges our clients and communities face, you’ll find that here at GHD.

You might think that sounds like marketing spin, but that’s the lived experience of our graduates, who participate in opportunities across the business, whether in different teams, different locations or different career pathways. We’re a business built on finding your path in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Because a career is more than just the job, you'll connect with our broader Young Professionals and Women in GHD networks, to learn from their experiences and help develop broader social networks across the company. There’s also the ability to participate in our GHD in the Community program where we partner with not-for-profit organisations to provide opportunities to work on pro-bono projects, volunteer and fundraise for philanthropic and humanitarian causes.

Who are we looking for?

Our Risk Consulting business enters projects differently to our Engineering teams and can create positive impact our clients and our communities across a project’s lifecycle. We work with our clients to assess and manage risks, significantly reducing the likelihood of target events occurring, and enhancing business operations and safety from the boardroom to on-the-ground projects.

If you’re looking to get a taste of what a Risk Consulting within the Infrastructure sector looks like, and are studying a Chemical Engineering degree, or have been exposed to Risk in your studies, then a role in our Advisory practice would be a great fit.

Whether you are a recent graduate or someone completing their final year of studies, to help streamline your application to our Graduate Program, please select “Risk Consulting” as your preferred internal team you’d like to join. To give you an idea of the rest of Advisory, in case something else also piques your interest, the rest of our teams are highlighted below:

  • Analytics & Strategic Insights – Data Science, Digital Consulting & Analytics, Coding
  • Movement Strategies – Transport & People Movement modelling & behavioural analytics
  • Business Case Development – Social, economic & commercial analytics for large scale project & infrastructure investment strategies
  • Logistics & Infrastructure Policy – Operational, commercial and policy assessment of transport systems, investment analytics & staging
  • Transaction, Strategy & Commercial – Acquisition & Divestment Infrastructure strategies, Risk analysis impacting asset valuation, Financial due diligence. This is also where our ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) capability lives
  • Risk Consulting – Hazard & Risk Assessments for Assets & Processes, Commercial Risk Advisory
  • Asset Management – Condition monitoring & assessments, whole of life strategies, digital asset management
  • Regulation & Assurance – Advisory services to Power & Transport industries on Decarbonisation, Distributed Assets, Emerging generation technology and overall impacts on changing regulation to the Australian network

What can we offer you?

Outside of the technical development you’ll gain working within your team, you’ll also join GHD’s Graduate Development Program. The Graduate Program is a globally aligned learning framework where you’ll interact with graduates across Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. It has been designed for future portability, so that no matter where your graduate position in GHD takes you, your learning experience will be impactful and consistent.

During the two-year program, you’ll learn about our business and our values, your team and most importantly, yourself. You’ll develop your decision-making, communication, technical and

leadership skills. We offer personal mentoring and a variety of development activities.

 What happens after you apply?

Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed by one of our Talent Acquisition team members who manage each of our regions. If your application is shortlisted, we will get in touch with you for a Video Interview, where you’ll get the chance to introduce yourself and make another positive impression on both our TA team and hiring managers.

How do you apply?

  1. 1. Select the "Apply" button
  2. 2. Please allow up to 10 minutes to complete the questions.
  3. 3. Upload a copy of your updated cover letter, CV and academic transcript/s.

If you’re successful through our recruitment process, your full-time position will start in February 2023. There may also be ongoing opportunities for casual work throughout your final year of studies.
