Graduate Opportunities with the Australian Shipbuilder Austal

With graduate opportunities as exciting and diverse as the ships we build, Austal is looking for our next team of shipbuilders to help deliver the world’s most advanced ships.

Austal Limited (ASX: ASB) is an ASX 200 company headquartered in Henderson, Western Australia. With shipyards in Australia, as well as the USA, the Philippines and Vietnam, Austal is a recognised leader in the design, construction and sustainment of customised commercial and defence vessels globally.

We promote a working environment that encourages diversity and we offer flexibility, benefits, learning and opportunities tailored to all individuals, as we acknowledge everyone is different.

Austal offers flexible working conditions, including a nine-day-fortnight for our professional staff. There is also ongoing training and professional development, genuine career progression opportunities, competitive remuneration and the opportunity to contribute towards and achieve individual, project and organisational goals.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • It provides opportunities for me to talk to and learn from experienced engineers and projects.
  • The teamwork and culture - I think it makes it really easy to collaborate with people when they are kind and personable.
  • Lots of learning opportunities
  • The parking lot is a 5 min walk to the main admin building.
  • Relevance of work - I feel as though some things are just not engaging but that is cause of my misalignment within this particular industry
  • Work site is quite remote - not many opportunities to go grab a coffee/lunch off-site.
