The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking a trades assistant to join our team based in Barangaroo, Sydney 2000. As the tradesman you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking maintenance on various types of equipment including chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, recycled water equipment, instrumentation, solar PV panels etc.
  • Working with and giving direction to specialist contractors.
  • Ensure timely capture of maintenance-related data into our asset system.
  • Availability to undertake and supervise works out of hours as occasionally required.
  • Working knowledge of safety within an industrial site

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the facility
  • Carrying out routine maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Assisting trades people in maintenance activities
  • Inputting routine and breakdown information into the system
  • Following all company policies and procedures
  • Assisting with implementing changes and upgrading equipment
  • Operating forklift/EWP

What you’ll need to be Successful

Desirable

  • Trade qualifications in either HVAC (refrigeration), process (water), electrical, fitting and turning or commercial plumbing
  • High-Risk licence WAH, confined space (training can be provided)

Essential

  • 1 -3 years of industry experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic office software skills (Google, Microsoft, and emails)
  • Hands-on ability with tools and equipment in all plants
  • Proactive and positive attitude
    Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and medical check relevant to the role.
