Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
There's a lot of good training opportunities available through the company, however you do have to drive a lot of it yourself. Similar to the formal education, you can apply to do post-grad studies, but it requires a lot of work with your manager and HR.
The amount of training from a corporate level has been great, LX learning were great at the beginning to learn what NGA stands for and the requirements for general work. In terms of project level training, this may become not as consistent depending on the manager's involvement or the assigned person in workday for new starters.
I think there needs to be a formalized list of training required for each role - so that employees can visualize what they need to do to progress to different levels internally. This list should be made public so training may be advertised throughout the year.
In my 1 year tenure at NGA I have moved roles from one team to another within our People & Culture function. I've been supported in my transition to learn and develop new skills, supporting the business and my personal exposure. NGA employees have the option to engage in short courses via Coursera, a learning platform that partners with universities and companies to offer short courses. Additionally, there is a development model to support individual development.
