Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
At the moment they are currently developing a lot of these systems, however its unclear where to go. There are internal job postings put out every two weeks, and you can apply for jobs. Beyond that, there aren't many things that are directly available or encouraged. Again, you need to drive a lot of your own development and get a plan. You can talk to your manager about pathways, and most of the time they can support you.
I have not currently moved up the rank. Due to NGA being a relatively 'young' company, a graduate program has not been developed to create a pathway. More specifically a pathway for graduates to gain experiences and how to move up the 'corporate ladder'. It is currently left upon the individual graduate to seek out job opportunities internally. This is to learn what they don't know, to then being a valid candidate for applying for other positions internally.
I work in a growing capability where there are lots of upcoming opportunities. There is a degree of uncertainty on whether programs will land which is unsettling.
I've recently been promoted into my role where I will continue to develop my skills to become an SME in this team.
