Gender Equality at Jacobs Australia

At Jacobs, we live inclusion.

Jacobs is delighted to have been announced as the '2021 Most Outstanding Company in Gender Diversity' award winner by Engineers Australia.

Jacobs is a leader in gender inclusion and diversity, with an aspirational goal of achieving 40:40:20 gender diversity (40% women, 40% men, 20% any gender) across our business by FY 2025.

We provide equal advancement of all genders into leadership. At Jacobs, we have taken concrete steps to create pathways for women, including women of color. In our intern and graduate program 46% of our hires are female. All of them are contributors, experts, thought leaders, and people who challenge us to move our business forward.

We are a leader in gender equality and flexibility  for seven years we have been recognised by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) list of Employers of Choice for Gender Equality as a leader in promoting gender equality and flexibility in our Australian workplaces.

We champion gender equality and challenge the norms – our Jacobs Women’s Network (JWN) has over 8,000 members and 139 chapters in 35 countries including Australia and have led several impactful initiatives.

We recently launched myFlex – our refreshed approach to our already well-established flexible working culture in ANZ. myFlex is designed to support employees and our business with mutually beneficial and individually tailored flexible working arrangements, for any reason. We believe flexible working requires an approach that empowers our employees with choice around how they achieve great outcomes for their clients, teams and themselves. As we shape new ways of working that are agile and dynamic, remote and in-office, our employees and teams will benefit from flexible arrangements tailored around their specific needs.

We celebrate gender diversity – Jacobs celebrates occasions including International Women in Engineering Day and this year hosted two global calls where we shared aspirational 40:40:20 goals and the steps Jacobs is taking to become a company where all genders thrive.
