Culture at Babcock Australia & New Zealand

8.5
8.5 rating for Culture, based on 10 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
One thing I have noticed is that everybody is always willing to answer questions and give me a hand when needed, which has been very helpful as a new grad. There is a strong team atmosphere, and we regularly go out or play basketball during our lunch break, etc. There is also quite a bit of flexibility in how you do your work, with lots of people working compressed 9-day fortnights, working from home for part of the week, or shifting start/finish times earlier or later to fit around their personal circumstances.

Culture of working is really good with the team being interactive and friendly. Being able to reach out for help within and outside the team is the best quality.

The company's culture is great. I like the mindset of making your work a lower priority than yourself and family, and people embrace and encourage it. People really respect your time both during and after office hours. WFH, and flexible start and finish times are also widely accepted. I think having a good balance in life is wonderful and the working culture at Babcock makes it possible for me to finish the work I need to do at my own pace within reasonable bounds of the deadlines.

The people are all really friendly and always happy to lend a hand with tasks. There is a mix between work from home and in the office but usually everyone goes straight home after work. The company structure is very flat with less managers within teams.

During office hours it's good that you are able to approach anyone in the office with questions and they are willing to help or point you towards someone who will know if they don't. Teamwork is relatively good; I think this will expand more when I experience active production. Socialisation amongst co-workers is good, and department events are a good idea.

The culture is very good and inclusive. Lots of teamwork and collaboration during work hours and after hours culture is also healthy with regular drinks and oval corporate box available as well.

Really good in certain offices. Working at the Osborne site, everyone gets along, the social club is big and occasional after work catchups

Co-workers are very friendly in and outside of the office. There is a strong effort to encourage people to socialise outside of work in a variety of activities.

During work hours everyone is able to effectively work together in a meaningful way and still maintain great out of office relationships. People in management positions don't ever 'speak down' to workers below then in the hierarchy.

No socialising as of yet
