Culture at Alluvium Group

Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
While there is a systematic hierarchy, I honestly had no clue how. I only found out how by asking. The structure of the company is very flat, which is great as it lets you interact with people in a range of positions without feeling out of place. I have yet to go outside for a company gathering as I've only been here a extremely short time.

During office hours, the kitchen/kitchen table is a social hub where people from different companies in the group who wouldn't normally interact talk about what they do and their days, weekends, and life experiences, which I think is valuable. People who drink coffee often go to get one and chat in the morning in small groups. People are friendly and supportive, and I can ask anyone in my company's part of the office questions about my work or a program that we are both using, even if they are from a different team, and they are happy to assist. We have group work lunches intermittently throughout the year, where we eat at one of the venues close to our workplace. These have been valuable in getting to know people in a more casual environment, and everyone usually has a great time discussing various work and non-work-related topics. Afternoon or morning tea is also held intermittently for celebrations (i.e. work anniversaries, birthdays, or events like International Women's Day). There are occasional after-work events. I speak to my team leader very often. The regional manager is very approachable and checks in occasionally as well. Overall, every is very approachable regardless of their position.

People / Culture: Alluvium is a full house of nice scientists and engineers. There are people from diverse academic backgrounds with the same passion. There are people from diverse cultures as well. Company Structure: Aside from management, Alluvium has four main teams with quite a bit of collaboration in between. Graduate would be exposed to unique projects quite often. Social Life at Work: There are many events at the office like monthly lunches, birthday celebrations... etc.

Company's culture is good, graduate roles can easily approach senior roles and seniors are always willing to help and give advice.

Alluvium has a fantastic work culture, it,'s one of the first things I noticed about working here. I felt comfortable and welcomed from the get-go, and was actually introduced to every single person in the office on my first day! Alluvium has a noticeably ,'flat,' structure, in that less experienced staff have access to those more experienced who may also hold greater responsibility. This has great outcomes for knowledge sharing and the bringing together of differing expertise and perspectives, and also makes the workplace more sociable and livelier for everyone. Outside of work, we,'ve had some great get togethers to celebrate annual milestones, as well as more casual after-work drinks, games of tennis, and the like. Our Yammer is also very active, and is a great way for the teams from different states to keep in close contact.

Office culture is great, everyone is very social, we get coffees together in the mornings and depending on peoples commitments we usually eat lunch together, there is also a small group of us that swim at lunch time, which I enjoy a lot. Occasionally we play tennis after work, we could probably organise a few more after work activities.
