As a graduate, we were placed in different rotations which have distinct working time and job requirements, therefore resilience is important to adapt to these requirements.

Why did you choose Toll?

I chose Toll because I was inspired by Toll’s culture and its value of continuous improvement. During my interview, the interviewers were friendly and open to ideas, and showed their passion for improving. In addition, Toll is emphasising safety as one of their core value, which I think is very important in this industry.

What’s the coolest thing about your job?

The coolest thing is that I had the opportunity to see the B-737 freight airplanes at the Sydney Airport that transport Toll’s time critical freights every day.

What are some of the challenges of your job?

One of the challenges is that I have to build up resilience. As a graduate, we were placed in different rotations which have distinct working time and job requirements, therefore resilience is important to adapt to these requirements.

In addition, logistics is a new area to me, therefore fast learning and seeking opportunity to apply my knowledge and capabilities to the business is challenging in the first couple of weeks as well.

What's been your biggest takeaway from the Graduate program so far?

My biggest takeaway from this program is various leadership and communication skills, such as how to understand preferred communication styles of different people so that I can change my communication style accordingly to have information better conveyed.
