Job Satisfaction at Nova Systems

I am responsible for a number of different tasks and I am given relative freedom to manage them the best way I see fit.

Day to day responsibilities are satisfying and work is engaging

Currently have a great opportunity to learn a new skill which will provide a pathway to a new role I'd like to explore in the future. My day-to-day responsibilities are administrative and clerical, which can be slow or mindless at times.

My roles as a graduate Integrated Logistics Support consultant is to work as a consultant for the Department of Defence. Most of my day consists of helping with ad-hoc tasks across various different teams and functions in the project

I check emails, I check teams, I open programs relevant to my role and complete tasks as needed.

Usually, it comes to asking for something to do. Given a task to occupy me for another day and then rinse and repeat. On the occasion I'll be given something a fair bit larger and interesting. Not the fault of my manager - just happens to be the pace of the project.

SPO related work, when there is any to be had, current placement is asset management related and involves reviewing procedures and requests.

My day-to-role involves being a system safety engineer within the Land Sustainment team. The client site culture in this team is not ideal but I also feel that I am often not utilised and assigned tasks that are more admin rather than safety.

Day to day responsibilities are client based and require Systems Engineering activities and design work.

Still waiting for role specific work, currently working on a separate project with stand up and completing assigned tasks.

I have stand up, I then do assigned tasks. Tasks include; writing code, minor documentation and reports.

Daily meetings, lots of reading. Very little role-specific work.

I've had a positive experience with both external client work and Nova internal work, feeling that I'm both learning and contributing at the same time.

I do all sorts of odds and ends. Sometimes I'm modelling scenarios and systems in STK. Other times I'm writing documents. Again, other times I am tinkering with drones and figuring out how to get them to work the way that we want them to.

My day-to-day responsibilities mainly involve ad hoc tasks. Often at times I'm asked around the office for some assistance which I am more than willing to do. I am involved in a role where I maintain responsibility for specific areas that have a great effect to the business.

I am responsible for assisting the senior engineers in my team with meeting the requirements of our system. This mainly involves collaborating with others to find information or get products. There is also a lot of admin-type work to be done. Currently, I am developing a road map of deliverables for our engineering team, and we have recently done a large review of all the documentation for our project.

Some interesting work and systems I get to look at on a day to day, but as its related to assurance I don't have much influence in seeing change in the system just spotting issues which doesn't feel as rewarding.

My work is okay and I can manage it day to day. However it s not always stimulating, I feel like I can do more. My supervisor it a great mentor and I have learnt a lot from them.

The work is interesting and unique. The team is great so I have plenty of support and learning opportunities. It just doesn't align with the interests I have in engineering. The topics don't remotely relate to the work I am familiar with/interested in doing which stems from the degree I did in Uni.
