As a requirements engineer I am heavily involved in the systems engineering work, and manage databases that track project requirements. There is a lot of interaction with many different people within the project, and I have opportunities to learn about other aspects of systems engineering such as integration and test.
The work that I have been entrusted with has been a learning curve, similar to university, the exposure to the corporate world. This exposure with different strands of engineering that university lightly touches on has been interesting. To learn of the niche engineering specialties, has questioned what from the company I can learn and how nothing is unachievable.
I perform a wide variety of different software tasks. This may include developing features, resolving defects, deploying software and managing CICD pipelines.
My role involves partnering with the business to mature the capability of our workforce. My team partners with the People & Culture Business Partners in leadership development, development frameworks for functional/technical capability, succession planning and workforce planning. Additionally, I oversee our learning management system, support our intern and graduate programs, and support our team to develop solutions on employee performance, engagement and career planning.

Meaningful and low-stress work. Can sometimes be a little slow but overall very good.
