Pros & Cons

  • New things to learn everyday and being relied on by my colleagues
  • Work-life balance and full support from peers and colleagues towards my learning and experience
  • The people and culture is really good
  • Real responsibility from the get-go! There are always people willing to help out.
  • Culture of willingness to upskill, help, communicate, spend time bringing new people up to speed. I have not met someone yet who was unwilling to spend time one on one to make sure current workings were understood or to iron out any issues.
  • Enjoy what I do
  • Occasional lack of guidance in more advanced topics
  • Large workload
  • WFH makes it harder to get help

Depends on the project, but usually my day-to-day is within my skillset and is achievable. If it's ever not, it's always been fine to just update team leaders with what's going on.

The dress code is either polo shirts for Friday or normal casual workwear. The office in Macquarie is spacious and large, where essential office supplies are available. Parking is also free through employee registration.

Recruitment
It was very relaxed. Interviewers seems genuinely interested in what skills people were going to bring to the company, and not just looking for someone very specific.

Training

Training
I've already picked up UX/UI design skills, and AEM and ALM application skills. Formal training was graduate entry level stuff with enough to get your feet wet and then after that you're encouraged to think about the specific ways you want to develop your skillset and are given the tools and access to classes as you bring them up with your manager. It's good.

Work Hours
It's a good balance depending on the workload. There are times where you'll on the bench but also times where it's all hands on deck, highly dependent on the depth of your experience and knowledge.
