Corporate Social Responsibility at BHP

I have worked on a project called project rise which aim was to increase BHP's indigenous business spend over the next 5 years.

I understand BHP is very committed to the environment and lessening their carbon footprint, which is very important to me. An issue such as climate change would not take just overnight to fix, but I believe BHP is trying to make a difference in that regard.

Lots of funding for community sporting/social events

Their commitment to mental health. I have been involved on the mental health committee and was very impressed to see how much emphasis BHP places on this initiative.

There are lots of internal initiatives that are focused on reducing the carbon footprint.

We have active initiatives on interactions with communities, pathway to net zero, decarbonization and indigenous spend

The company is in the process of a number of renewable/circular economy initiatives, along with commitments to support local companies and communities.

A lot of initiatives and committments available in Roxby Downs

They have some programs and sponsorship but I'm not sure what they actually do

Outside of sponsoring some local sports events, I haven't seen much.

Have not worked on anything personally, but again seems like there is a clear drive from the leadership team towards becoming a more socially responsible corporation.

Funding community events, infrastructure and royalties to the communities which BHP works in.

Lots of sustainability focused initiatives - water saving, renewable energy, waste minimisation etc. Also a lot of cultural initiatives - supporting women and minorities. Nothing that I have personally worked on.

Many internal clubs are sponsored to push initiatives. Most recent was participation in the pride parade.

Do run events to support causes like Movember and mens mental health. Could do more in the environmental area and school programs

This company has a lot of projects to give back to the communities involved as well as commitments to upskill

Indigenous procurement - 4-month rotation in the team Environmental sustainability Community involvement e.g. donations, partnerships etc

Have worked on none personally. Company is big on reconciliation and sustainability. Have heard from multiple people we could do better in indigenous spend as compared to other similar companies.

Company sponsors Foodbank and have been involve in food drive donations personally.
