BAE Systems' advanced defence technology solutions protect people and national security, keeping critical information and infrastructure secure.  For more than 65 years we have searched for new ways to provide our customers in Australia with a competitive edge across air, land, sea, cyber, space and electronic domains.

In terms of our culture, it's safety focused and inclusive.  For us that means ensuring that the voices and talents of our more than 4,100 employees are valued and that everyone has a sense of belonging. It also means providing a safe, family friendly, flexible and supportive place to work.

It's a great place to start your career and a great time to join us.

We're now looking for talented Project Management Interns to join our team over the 2021/2022 summer period.

As an intern within our Project Management function, you will build upon your foundational PM knowledge with task-based experience in live projects.  You will mature your understanding of the core concepts and practices that allow this vital business role to lead and manage our highly skilled and experienced teams in delivering our wide array of exciting products and services to the Australian Defence Force.

Our most successful interns demonstrate: a clear desire to learn from their experiences and those of others; curiosity to seek clarity beyond the perceived obvious and effectively challenge the status quo; an aspiration and ability to work within highly collaborative teams; and an ability to remain responsive and flexible in changing conditions to enable consistent delivery.

These opportunities will be available in:

  • Williamtown, NSW

To be eligible to apply, you must be in your penultimate year of study, and studying a Bachelor of Project Management, or a relevant degree with post-graduate qualifications in Project Management.

You will also need demonstrated team work, communication and problem solving skills coupled with a strong desire to learn.  Due to the nature of our work, you'll also need to be an Australian citizen and eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.

What's in it for you?  As part of the BAE Systems Intern community you'll enjoy:

  • A 12 week paid and structured internship
  • Early consideration for our 2023 graduate intake
  • Mentoring and support
  • Interesting and inspiring work
  • Opportunities to collaborate with Interns and Graduates across the country
  • Family friendly, flexible work practices and policies
