Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Flexible work hours with ability to WFH, very flat hierarchy and good inter-team cooperation. Plenty of socializing opportunities and social events every week.

A high-achieving environment with people who are truly passionate about what they do. Most people are eager to help you understand their area of expertise if asked.

For each role, there are only junior, mid, and senior levels. There is no fixed timeline of promotions, it is all meritocratic. It's not immediately obvious from the floor plan who is what level since everyone sits and works together. When you start as a Junior Trader, you will be sitting and learning the processes/trading logic of the desk you've joined. The more experienced traders on the desk will challenge you to think for yourself, and guide you through how they make trading decisions. You will be given control and responsibility over a portion of your desk early on, and your actions will have a tangible impact on the success of your team. The experienced traders will constantly give you feedback on your actions and ideas, and you will be trusted with more responsibilities as you improve.

Everyone at Akuna is competitive, but not with each other. We see ourselves as one big team taking on the markets. Help is never far away and there are plenty of talented people from all departments who you can use as resources to help you out. It's very easy to reach out to, and work with anyone at the firm. Juniors and seniors sit next to and work with each other at the office. Socialising after hours is easy, with regular meet-ups with our various clubs, like basketball, wine, and running club, as well as generally hanging out on Friday nights.

Very chill, tons of social events such as poker nights

The work is very interesting and challenging at times. The hours are good, and I never feel pressured to work overtime or anything like that. Akuna operates as a meritocracy with a flat hierarchy and strong emphasis on collaboration.

Most colleagues are fantastic to work with. Management decisions can be particularly interesting. Do not expect to be working 9-5 as stated in your contract, most are working minimum 9 hour days.
