Your role

ABB is currently seeking an Electrical/ Control Systems Engineer to work on complex electrical systems. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of electrical systems & through mentoring, training and (when appropriate) being ‘thrown in the deep end’, they expect to fast-track their learning, so they quickly become an expert. The role is based in Singleton, NSW. It will report to the Projects Team Manager.

Your responsibilities:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Electrical System Design
  • PLC & SCADA Development & Testing
  • IBA Development & Testing
  • Protection Relay Programming & Testing
  • Drive Software Development & Testing
  • Arc Flash and Power System Studies
  • Provide technical support to Field Service Engineers
  • Provide technical support to the Sales Team for Bids and Proposals
  • Doing regular self-paced or formal training to keep your skills sharp and ensure you are operating at the highest level
  • Ensuring that Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices are of a high standard and working to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents.
  • As a member of a larger team, you will have a range of people who you can call on for guidance and technical assistance. It is important that the candidate is aware of their own limitations and knows when to ask for assistance.

About you

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

  • Engineering Degree majoring in Electrical, or Electrical Trade qualification
  • You will need to have a desire to learn and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Quick learner
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer focused
  • A keen focus on safety and a demonstrated record of implementing safety best practices
